We are delighted to have Koshal Hamal working at KCAC on our Nepali artist in residence scholarship programme.
Born in 1988 he is a conceptual multi-media artist working with painting, sculpture and video. Working with the idea of appropriation and the broad contemporary visual cultures he says “the notion of identity and the representation of mis-representation are the main features of my work.”
Hamal studied Fine Arts at Tribhuvan University and then went on to be awarded a distinction in his BFA at Beaconhouse National University, Lahore in 2011, studying on a South Asia Foundation Scholarship. In 2012 he was chosen by the Lahore Arts Council as one of the best young artists.

The work created during his residency work will be exhibited at the Siddhartha Art Gallery, Kathmandu Nepal 5th December- 25th December.
