“I believe it would be an incredible experience to create my work within the beautiful landscape and culture that is Nepal. The impact of these new surroundings would be a direct source of inspiration for my paintings. I look forward to the feeling of being overwhelmed by the saturation of exotic new shapes, lines, textures, patterns and colors that Nepal and the far east has to offer.  The opportunity to visit and study within the Patan Museum, meeting local artists, and witnessing what they create, would only heighten my visual language and inspire a new flow of conversation within my paintings.

In addition, I believe the displacement from my home, and all that is familiar to me, would be another meaningful source of inspiration and creativity.  The possibility of discomfort, and the fear of the unknown excite and intrigue me, as it feeds the language that my paintings need in order to grow.  The discomfort and subsequent learning would work its way into my process, and the work that is being made. That experience, along with the directness of being in a new landscape, would push me further into the exploration of the spaces I create, and my compulsion to create them. “
