I painted this mural here in Nepal before the earthquake hit as part
of a workshop I gave hosted by the British Council Nepal and Siddhartha Art Gallery with a small group of local street artists. It reads "remember something ancient, imagine something new" maybe even more relevant now.
I am here in Nepal as I was accepted on an artist in residence programme at the Kathmandu Contemporary Arts Centre. The Earthquake has changed some elements of that although I am here now painting and carrying on the residency. I have been giving art workshops to kids as a way to deal with the affects of the earthquake and I see that as also part of my residency. — with Sanjeev Maharjan and 8 others.
