The Kathmandu Contemporary Arts Centre was thrilled to welcome Sur-Sudha, Nepal’s best known classical group. who generously agreed to come to London, after a central European tour, especially to do a fund-raising concert for us at the beautiful St.Paul’s Church in Covent Garden.

We were also delighted to welcome Joshua Field, one of the most talked about young writer/composers in the UK music scene today. (He has done commissions for many people including Desmond Tutu and the Queen. www.joshuafield.net)  He also generously  gave up his evening to play for us.

Sur-Sudha began the evening by playing classical Nepali music, this was followed by Joshua Field playing his own compositions on the piano. After a short interval all four musicians returned to the stage and played improvisation music together. This mixture of Eastern and Western music was a huge success and very well received by the audience, of 130+,  made up of a mixture of British and Nepali people.
